本集小结
- * look这一类半系动词，后面带形容词而不带副词，还有 seem, appear, sound, feel, smell, taste等。如：
This sounds interesting.
The flower smells sweet.
The soup tastes wonderful.
My skin feels rough.
之所以如此，是因为形容词所表现的是主语的一方面的属性，并不修饰动词本身。
* be+似介词的副词已见到不少了，再略举如下：
What's up? 出了什么事？
The light is on. 灯亮着。
The meeting is off . 会不开了。
The boat is in. 船抵港了。
All is over. 一切都完了。
I'll be around. 我将在近旁。
The fire is out. 火灭了。
He isn't in. 他不在。
* 手指是 finger，五个手指依次为 thumb, index finger, middle finger, ring finger及 little finger（昵称 pinkie）。脚趾为 toes，大脚趾为 big toe。
* cry 是大哭，weep是不出声地流泪，sob是啜泣、抽噎，wail是高声恸哭或边哭边说地哀悼。
* 前文已有过 That a boy (Attaboy). 和 That's my boy. 本集二幕中的 Atta girl. 也是这个意思，不过因为狗是母狗，故此这样说。
* 意大利人开的小饭馆中，侍者文化水平较低，说话比较随便，如 Ready, folks? I've got it. 等均体现了这一点。
* 短短的一集，谈了小狗杰玛的事，从一个侧面描写了青年男女对宠物的爱好，也较细致地说明了西方社会对狗的态度。要想去领一只狗来喂养，手续的繁琐严格快赶上领养孩子了。读者对此有什么感想？
