Just because. I can't tell you a reason. 没有特别理由。
Fast asleep. Sleeping deeply. 睡熟了。注意形容词asleep只能作表语，不能作定语。
I'm sorry I missed him. 很抱歉我错过了他（醒着的时候）。miss的另一个意思是“想念”，如下文有一句“I'll miss him”.
But our anniversary isn't until Saturday. 但是要到星期六才是我们的结婚纪念日。not(…)until…意思是“直到……才……”。
If you had your choice of all the places in the world, where would you choose to spend our anniversary? 假如让你挑选世界上任何地方，你会选择哪里去度我们的结婚纪念日？这是一个假设条件句，表示与现在事实相反的内容，主句用would加动词原形，从句用一般过去时。
Inn：a small hotel, often in the country or on a main road. 小旅馆。通常指乡村或主要道路旁的旅馆。
We went on our honeymoon. 我们去度蜜月。“度假，度蜜月”通常用短语go on。
perfect：太好了。
second honeymoon：第二次蜜月。

make a reservation：arrange to stay at a hotel. 在饭店或旅馆预订房间。在预订机票、戏票、餐厅席位时也可用短语make a reservation。
balcony：阳台。
Hudson River：哈得孙河。该河在纽约州东部，约三百一十五英里长。
room clerk：a hotel worker who registers guests and chooses rooms for them. 饭店客房部职员。
double room：a hotel room with two beds or one bed big enough for two people. 双人房间。单人房间是single room。
Don't hang up! 别挂断电话。请对方不挂断电话也可说“Please hang on!”
hold it：wait. 等一等。
baby-sit：（临时）替别人照看孩子。
see if = find out if…看看是否……
suggested：recommended. 推荐。
Would you happen to have a room for two avail able this weekend? 这个周末你们是否（碰巧）有间双人房间空着？
hold：not hang up the telephone. 不挂断电话。
checking：trying to find out. 查看，查询。
daily rate：the cost for each day. 每日租金。
We'll be arriving：我们将于……到达。这里用将来进行时态表示将来时。
Done! 一切办妥了。表示事情解决了，办妥了或敲定了，可以说“Done”，“Settled”。
