and photograph street performances in the city,

I'm here to see(Mr. Carlson)．我来见 Carlson先生。 Use this phrase when you arrive for an appointment．赴约时可用这个短语。
（Mr. Carlson） will be with you shortly． Carlson 先生一会儿就可以见你。 This expression is a common way to ask someone to wait．这是请人稍等的常用说法。
Like I said．正如我所说。 The correct form is As I said. Some speakers use like instead of as．正确的说法是As I said。有些人用 like代替as。
buzz：营营声（电话或对讲机的声音）。
computer：计算机（电脑）。
a crazy morning： a very busy morning．忙得令人头昏的早晨。
on such short notice：so soon（after asking for an appointment）．刚约就要见（没有给对方充裕的时间）。
brought（your pictures） along：brought(Your pictures） with you．随身带来（你的照片）。
coffee----table book：an attractive book of photographs．摆在客厅茶几上的图书。 People some---- times keep this kind of book on a table in front of their sofa in the living room. A coffee----table book is for guests to look through．这种图文并茂，印刷精美的书常常放在客厅里沙发前的矮几上，供客人翻阅。
portrait：a lifelike description in words．生动的描写。
landmarks：things that identify a particular location．标志，路标。 For example, the Statue of Liberty is a famous New York City landmark．例如，自由女神像就是著名的纽约市标志。
journey：a long trip.旅行。
There's something missing. =Not everything is here．少了点东西。
left out：not included．漏掉了。
mimes：actors who perform without speaking．哑剧演员。 Mimes use their bodies and faces to tell a story or an idea．哑剧演员借助动作和表情来表现情节，表达思想。
if you go…：假如你去…… To refer to a future possibility after if use a present verb form(go, not will go)．在由 if引导的条件状语从句中，动词用现在时来表示将来可能发生的事。例如： If it rains tomorrow, we'll stay at home. You'll miss the train if you don't hurry.
Are you serious？你是当真的吗？ serious：not joking．当真的；不是开玩笑的。
