  • old pal:老友。
Peter doesn't like the book.  Neither do I。
  • So you thought about it, huh?
  • I knew you'd realize...:
  • I came to that conclusion. I decided that.
  • hearing me out: listening to my point of view.
  • And thanks for being such an understanding father.
  • greets: says hello to.
  • as young as ever: as young as you always looked. ever = ever before,过去任何时候。
  • hug:拥抱。
  • You must be Robbie. Your brother must be anxious to hear the story.
  • Are you as good a tennis player as your dad? 注意as...as结构。
  • good at: talented.
  • frankly: honestly; truthfully.
  • neither was I=I wasn't good at it either.
  • Charley was the star...: Charley
  • How've you been...?
  • Doesn't show. = You don't look as if you've been working too hard.
  • the toughest: the most difficult.
  • English history:
  • and loving every minute of it:且乐此不疲。
  • speaking of:说起……来。例如:Speaking of the devil, here he comes.
  • get right to:马上开始。
  • I'd love to.
  • I'm afraid I can't. 此处 can't指 can't have lunch with you two, 不能和你们一块吃午饭。
  • transcript:成绩单。
  • Right here.=It's right here.
  • I see under“activities”...:
  • You name it, I've written it. You name it =Whatever you can mention.
  • Hmmm.
  • journalist: reporter.
  • Not until recently.
  • School of Journalism:
