  • Walkman:a small radio and tape player with earphones. (带耳机的)袖珍立体声收录音机,随身听。
  • absolutely:绝对地,确实地。
  • so:very. 非常。So is more emotional than very. so比very更富有感情意味。
  • thoughtful:kind. 考虑周到。
  • such a nice family:a very nice family. 这样温暖的家庭。 Such a is more emotional than a very. Use such a before an adjective and a singular noun. such a比a very更有感情意味。在形容词及一单数名词前使用。
  • I can tell. = I can see. 我能感觉到。我知道有什么事。我能看出来。
  • What's up? = What's happening?  怎么啦?出什么事了?相当于What's the matter? Is something wrong? 等。This is a very popular expression. 这是非常口语化的一种表达方式。

  • no longer in service:not working anymore. 不再使用,(电话)空号。
  • You've lost…= You have lost… 你失去了……,你找不到……。Alexandra在这里用的是现在完成时。losing family是发生在以前的事,但Alexandra想的是狗目前的处境。
